Dancing on Thin Ice

Exciting times over at Dancing on Ice where Sam Attawater wants to treat his partner Brianne to a 'head banger'. But turns out to be merely a dance move.
Ah, nice to see Chloe Madeley's parents, Richard & Judy, out in the audience supporting their daughter. Especially when the only interest Judy's ever had in ice is when it's floating in her Vodka & Tonic..
But if ratings are anything to go by then this show is as dead as the Dodo. Not only cos of the producers ever dying wish to see this show as X-Factor on Ice (with a touch of Strictly). And with the bitchy cat-fights between Jason and Karen, this show would be on it's arse.
But the 'celebrities' still keep us entertained, though. I mean, Kerry Katona's always been good on the white stuff, anyway. And I think it's safe to assume that Johnson has served ITV's cynical purpose. Next years line up needs revamping, though. Every year it's the effing same: a Hollyoaks cast member. An Eastender's cast member. A loose woman. Yeah yeah- at least no Emmerdale star this time.
But maybe ITV should stop wasting money and get that big fat cheque book out?
Or is this me being a nasty old journalist? Hmmm. I'll accept the latter.

Valentines Day.

It's times like this I feel like male version of Bridget Jones: diary in hand, TV remote in the other. Valentines Day. The very two words single, depressed men never want to hear. So, whats my plan for the day?
Well, my flat-mates will continue to annoy me as usual (JOKE: no need to bitch in your rooms after reading this). And my essays will get written. But do I want more? Debatable. Just cos' I know how lucky I am to be single and not chained down to any demanding women. And also, it could be worse
I could be Alex Reid.

Labour? Their just a bunch of Champagne Socialists.

I've been heckled so much recently simply because I vote for the Tories. And yes, I admit, I'm a political bore sometimes (well- all the time, actually). But I really don't care. Because after experiencing 13 years of a wasted Labour government, it's arguable that we needed a change. And no, we didn't ask for a Coalition. I hope that's taught all those Liberal Loons out there to READ a manifesto before taking in all that clap-trap. Of course the Lib Dems lied. They'd sell their own mothers for political gain.

I'm SICK of hearing Labour chant: PUBLIC SERVICES. It was LABOUR who spent like drunken sailors, irresponsibly wasting money without having a clue how to pay it back. People need to read facts: instead of worrying about 'public services' and deluding themselves that Labour actually give a damn about working class people, they should read up on what they know. Because from what I see, Labour invested BILLIONS into education, NHS, policing. But lets read between the lines:

- Labour built new schools and filled them with computers. So? Why did our children PLUMMET down international reading/writing leagues too a pitiful 19th? Why is it pupils come to school with a kinfe? Why is teachers are hauled into prison for simply disciplining a child? Why is it 4 in 10 children last week FAIL a simple reading test? I thought Labour did so great, right?

- New hospitals are being built. But why is it that Managers shot up 70% and often pointless bureaucrats are paid obscene bonuses? Why is it nurses spend more time form filling than actually saving patients lives? Why is it doctors are obsessed with targets while patients are sitting in their beds rotting from malnutrition? An yes- the NHS does great work, seriously. But countless people are dying from sick bugs needlessly because Labour refused to fund the cancer drug funds. Sick. And we can't get over these problems unless people actually stood up and admitted them.

- As for the police. The police budget ballooned by 12%. But how come admin and IT staff rocketed by 79% and front line staff simply went up by 1.1%? It's criminal (excuse the joke). THAT'S the point. Cameron is cutting admin and managers. NOT frontline. Fact (read the facts, if you dare).

I wish people would stop moaning and get on with it. We NEED cuts. Otherwsie we'll be like Greece, Portugal and Spain: BANKRUPT. It's not a great prospect.
Labour had 13 years of endless opportunity.
What a waste.

ASBOs- you decide.

In a report today, the government is axing ASBOs. But I want to know if that is either a very good idea, or a very bad one. Because tearaways are treating them as a badge of honour rather than a punishment. And what's the effect? They still haunt the streets at night, causing mischief. I've seen it, experienced it, even.
And that's the point. If these badges aren't solving the problem, then it SHOULD be scrapped. Otherwise it's simply a waste of tax-payers money.
The new scheme will axe ASBOs, and instead punish the little soap-dodgers by taking away their personal items. Anti-social behaviour may get better, or it could get worse. But who knows? It needs a trial, at least.

Well, ranting yesterday helped me calm down. :D But what do I wish to discuss today? Hmmm.
As I'm writing this, my dad is belting out  Elvis whilst painting the kitchen ceiling. It's cringe-worthy, yes. And it's good to be hearing him sing to classic songs because It's my first trip back home in almost three weeks! Right now it's simply three more days of robbing my parents of money, food and washing powder. But I do enjoy spending time with them, I suppose. You can't beat Mom's homemade cottage pie. ;D
But Mr. Blog? I currently have to love you and leave yer. Bath time, because right this instant, I seem to smell like I've just dived head first into a sewer drain.

The world of politics is a tricky one, eh?
This week, Labour has sharpened it's claws to slag off the Coalition yet won't reveal a single policy on how they would get us out of the mess were currently in. Labour let the bankers get away with murder then have the gall to lecture the Tories on bonuses. It was Brown & Blair's irresponsible spending that left us on the brink of bankruptcy; their reckless borrowing left productivity shockingly poor. Look at the NHS.
Yes, it does great work. But managers shot up, leaving nurses to spend more time form filling than actually saving lives. I've seen dirt on hospital floors and just lately, we constantly hear horror stories about how pensioners are left in their beds to rot.
